Warm Greetings to all chemical engineers affiliated with the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Kochi Regional Centre.
As you are aware, the Kochi Regional Centre has been actively engaged in spreading knowledge related to Chemical Engineering within society. Chemical Engineering finds application in every aspect of life. The climate we experience is undergoing changes due to human activities. Chemical Engineers not only play a vital role in providing hydrocarbons, chemicals, and various consumer goods to society but also significantly contribute to environmental protection through their efforts in solid waste management, pollution control, and addressing climate change, thereby tackling other challenges faced by humanity.
Chemical Engineers can engage in plant operations, equipment design, and research. Continuous updating of knowledge is essential to enhance our service to society. In this context, I urge all chemical engineers who have not yet joined IIChE to become members of this professional organization and bolster its initiatives. Membership in professional bodies holds substantial value, particularly in the career trajectories of engineers transitioning from India to international opportunities in this globalized environment.
IIChE will be organizing lectures that encompass not only technical subjects but also management, soft skills, and the balance between work and personal life, all aimed at fostering personal development among engineers. We encourage your active participation in these programs.
I trust that the initiatives of IIChE will unite numerous chemical engineers and the broader engineering community under a single umbrella, heralding a new era for Kerala in general and the Kochi Region specifically.
